Gout results when certain crystals are formed as an end product of improper protein metabolism. These crystals are deposited in joint,forming a bump or growth that irritates causing joint to become inflamed.
Causes :
> obesity
> increasing age
> temperament
> improper diet
Take adequate fluids to expell crystals and prevent their buildup in the kidneys and urinery tract.
Avoid :
* alcohol
* caffeine
* meat gravies / stocks
* chocolate
* sweetbreads
* shellfish,sardine, anchovies
* cauliflower,peas
and other foods that contain purines,substances from which uric acid is formed.
Fruits,vegetables and juices aid uric acid excretion. Foods that neutralize uric acid are strawberries,cherries and celery juice. Nutrients may be helpful. Many gout patients are deficient in B vitamin,resulting in uric acid accumulation.A lack of vitamin E allows excessive formation of uric acid.
